We are currently building a three story, 5,000 sq ft home with five bedrooms. Insulated poly steel forms will be used for the foundation, including a Delta®-MS foundation waterproofing membrane. Exterior walls and the attic will consist of 2x6 studs with Icynene® LD-R-50 spray foam insulation. All sheet metal ductwork will be installed with mastic to prevent air leakages and Speedi-Boot™ vent hangers will be used for all registers in the house.
Other energy efficient features include triple-pane, Low-E Jeld-Wen® windows, a SunDrum® solar hot water system and a 6 kW, Suntech® solar array on the garage roof at the south end of the house. A geothermal system will be the main heating and cooling source for this house. |

39 Wood Pond

39 Wood Pond was built in 1942. The original house was around 2,500 sq ft. There was oil heat, an electric water heater, single paned windows, very little insulation in the walls, and plumbing fixtures that were not low water flow fixtures. The house is now 3,200 square feet and will be Green Certified by NAHB and Energy Star certified.
