| Description: We are currently building a three story, 5,000 sq ft home with five bedrooms. Insulated poly steel forms will be used for the foundation, including a Delta®-MS foundation waterproofing membrane. Exterior walls and the attic will consist of 2x6 studs with Icynene® LD-R-50 spray foam insulation. All sheet metal ductwork will be installed with mastic to prevent air leakages and Speedi-Boot™ vent hangers will be used for all registers in the house. Other energy efficient features include triple-pane, Low-E Jeld-Wen® windows, a SunDrum® solar hot water system and a 6 kW, Suntech® solar array on the garage roof at the south end of the house. A geothermal system will be the main heating and cooling source for this house.
